Delete your Vyaam account
You can delete your account and everything Vyaam holds about you at any time. It takes under a minute in the app, or one e-mail if you no longer have the app.
In the app
- Open Vyaam and sign in.
- Go to You → Settings.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
The same steps work on the web at app.vyaam.in.
By e-mail
Write to support@vyaam.in from the e-mail address on the account, with the subject "Delete my Vyaam account". We confirm it is you and delete the account within 7 days, and reply when it is done.
Delete some of your data, keep the account
You do not have to delete the account to remove something:
- Workouts and history: open the workout in Train → History and delete it.
- Body weight and measurements, food and water logs: swipe or open the entry and delete it.
- Posts, comments, photos and videos: open your post in the Feed and delete it; comments the same way.
- Health Connect: turn the sync off in Settings; data already synced can be deleted from Health Connect on your phone.
- Buddies: remove a buddy from their profile. To have a chat history removed, e-mail us.
Anything you cannot find, or a request to remove a whole category at once: e-mail support@vyaam.in and we do it within 7 days.
What is deleted when the account goes
- Your profile: name, e-mail, phone number, date of birth, sex, photo.
- Your training and health data: workouts, plans, records, body weight and measurements, nutrition and water logs, anything synced from Health Connect, Zen conversations and insights.
- Your social data: buddies, buddy chats, posts, comments and reactions, photos and videos you uploaded, and your ratings.
- Your sign-in: the account itself, push-notification tokens and device identifiers.
What is kept, and why
- Your gym's own records of your membership and the fees you paid to the gym. These belong to the gym, which is the merchant, and it keeps them for its accounts and tax obligations. Ask the gym to correct or remove them.
- Anonymous session ratings you left, which cannot be traced back to you.
- Records of money you paid — the amount, the date and the receipt number stay in the gym's books, as any paid bill does, but your name on them becomes "Deleted member".
- Exercise videos added to the gym's own library, including any sound recorded with them. Those belong to the gym and stay with it, like anything else made for everyone there. Videos and photos you uploaded to your own exercises, posts and profile are deleted.
- If you worked at a gym, its records of your shifts, attendance and leave. The law requires an employer to keep these, so they stay with the gym for five years after the year they belong to, and are then deleted.
- Security and audit logs for up to 180 days, then deleted automatically. Reports you filed are kept the same 180 days; so is the record of who filed them, which only Vyaam can read — never your gym.
- Weekly backups, for up to nine weeks. Vyaam's database is backed up once a week so it can be restored after a failure. Your data leaves the live database the moment you delete your account, and leaves each backup as that backup expires. Nobody browses backups, and they are stored in India like the rest of your data.
Deletion is permanent: once it is confirmed, your account cannot be recovered and neither can your data — backups are for restoring the service after a failure, not for restoring a deleted account.
